The Pink Cottage provides Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the heart of Bedfordshire, England. The house combines the charm of a thatched cottage, originally built around 1680, with a modern wing for the convenience of our taller guests. The house is set in 2.5 acres and there is plenty of parking available, making The Pink Cottage one of the ideal places to stay in Bedfordshire. You will be sure of a warm welcome from hosts Mel and Ken.
We normally have three rooms available, but are only using two during the pandemic. The first room, the East Wing, is under the eaves of the thatched roof and has its own shower room immediately underneath on the ground floor, as well as a sitting room or second bedroom with a separate entrance. This is the main room we are using during the pandemic, because it can be separated from the rest of the house. The second one, Peter's room, is a double with en-suite in the modern part of the house. As well as having higher ceilings, this is suitable for less able guests, as there are only 2 steps up from the nearest entrance. The third room which could be used if necessary, is a family room in the thatched part of the cottage, consisting of 2 adjoining rooms, set up as a double and a twin. These have the use of a family bathroom downstairs.
Our rooms are from £50 per night for the double rooms, including continental breakfast and £90 for the family rooms. Full English breakfast is normally available for a £5 supplement, but this option is not available during the pandemic. We will confirm prices at the time of booking.
We are situated on the corner of Blunham Road and The Ridgeway, in Moggerhanger. There are 2 good local pubs for dinner, The Guinea in Moggerhanger, or The Anchor in Great Barford. Alternatively, you can order a delivery from some excellent Chinese and Indian restaurants in Sandy. We will supply plates and cutlery!
If you are looking for something to do locally, we are right beside the Kingfisher Way river walk and there is the local historic house, Moggerhanger Park. Within a few miles is the Shuttleworth collection of classic cars and planes. We are also close to the RSPB headquarters.
We welcome last minute bookings if you are visiting a relative in St. John's Sue Ryder Hospice.
